Scarlet Sprites recently posted a review of the new ROM Cart for Neo Geo MVS consoles, made by Evie from BackBit. Joe goes through it’s basic use and demo’s the feature exclusive to this cart: The ability to link with multi-machine games! While there’s only a few games that support link play, this is a fun addition for people who like games like League Bowling who don’t want to buy a second copy of the game. One thing worth noting is Joe had some issues using multi-slot MVS motherboards. These could all be potentially fixed in the final revision that’s shipping to customers, however I’ve personally encountered quite a few issues that only occur on multi-cart boards, so it may be something we’re stuck dealing with. Overall, I still think this is an excellent choice for fans of original MVS hardware and I hope Evie releases an ASES converter as well for people to use it with home consoles.
